Meet Debby Forshey-Choma...

Three years ago, we moved south from Michigan, to the Raleigh, North Carolina area. This move has placed us closer to our grandbabies, Addilyn (Little Sunshine) and now our newest arrival, grandson, Theo; to enjoy everything that comes with being Grandparents. We are also enjoying living closer to both our daughters, Melissa (Kevin) and Amanda.

I have been a nationally known published artist and owner of Debby's Touch since 1988. I authored 12 books and over 300 pattern packets and have written articles for national magazines. I have enjoyed trying many different crafts throughout my life, thanks to my Mom inspiring us with trips to LeeWards Creative Crafts (now Michaels) and Minnesota Fabrics, along with my Grandmom teaching me to crochet at the age of 5.

Now my passion is designing lighthouse scenes, seascapes, and seasonal landscapes using acrylics and incorporating mixed media backgrounds to create interest in my designs. I find decorative painting very rewarding, especially the platform of teaching as a way to share my love and passion for painting with others.

In coordination with Royal-Langnickel Brushes, I designed my Texture Brush, which is excellent for achieving texturing effects for foliage, snow, clouds, etc. The Texture brush is made of hog bristles, which aids in achieving that airy effect you see in my paintings.

I am a Royal Ambassador for Royal & Langnickel Brushes, which helps support chapter seminars. I am also a Viking Woodcrafts Brand Ambassador. I travel teach throughout the United States at conventions and chapter seminars.

For everything there is a season... or to quote Stanley Horowitz...
"Winter is an etching, Spring a watercolor, Summer an oil painting and Autumn a mosaic of them all."
